Legal Question in Family Law in Maryland

trying to protect a sperm donor

my fiancee was 17 when he donated sperm to his sister and her girlfriend. He didn't know his rights and she tricked him into signing the birth certificate by telling him he was signing his rights away. Now his sister and her girlfriend have split. The girlfriend has the child and there is now a case in court. Can the courts force him to pay child support if he was a minor when the child was concieved (the mother is on welfare)? Is there anything he can do now to protect himself from ever having to pay child support? He considers this child his neice.
