protective order

i went to my final and i dismissed it because the other party's lawyer talked to me and really made me feel bad b/c there is a child involved. well the next day i filed for p.o again because i really do fear of what he may do to me but since i dismissed it the first time will that affect me getting the p.o?

Re: protective order

The court will weigh the fact that you dismissed, but it does not mean you will not be granted your protective order. If you filed the new protective order based on the same set of facts that you filed the first one on, the court may dismiss your petition. If there is a child involved, that is all the more reason to protect yourself. Please call me if you would like to discuss this further.
