Legal Question in Family Law in Maryland

I received a set of interrogatories and motion to produce documents in the mail from an attorney. They were not filed in court. Since they were not filed with the court, do I still have to answer them? Can I just let it go? Thanks.

Interrogatories and document requests are not filed in court. You still must answer them unless they were filed after the discovery deadline. If you are going to represent yourself, which is a very bad idea assuming you think this litigation is important, you should at least familiarize yourself with court rules and procedures. If you financially qualify, you may be entitled to legal representation at a reduced fee through your county bar association.
