Legal Question in Family Law in Maryland

Reimburseable percentage

I have a question. I am the non-custodial parent. I have a court order June 2004 that states my reimburseable % for ''childrens expenses, including but not limited to daycare and ortho''. We went back to court at a later day on other issues and have an order January 2006 that states parents will ''equally pay for the family therapist for uncovered expenses''. We go back to court again on a motion to modify Child Support filed by the custodial parent. In that order dated April 2006 it states the reimburseable % by non-custodial for ''medical, dental and ortho not covered by insurance''.

My ex is now sending me a bill requesting half of the family therapist bills and sending me receipts to pay for the Apr 06 percentage for summer camps he has enrolled the kids in without discussing it with me first. I cannot enroll the kids in activities because he has said he won't pay his %, yet he can enroll and expect me to pay, without even talking to me first?

My question is based on the newest reimb %, does that override the other orders? And am I responsible for paying for activities that he puts the kids in, without discussing and getting my agreement first?

Thanks

Re: Reimburseable percentage

The most recent court order would control as to your share of unreimbursed medicals. As far as your responsibility to contribute to summer camp expenses is concerned, unless there is s specific provision in a separation agreement or in the divorce decree requiring you to do this, you are not obligated. Moreover, if you have joint legal custody, he is supposed to consult with you before doing such things as enrolling the children in summer camp.
