Legal Question in Family Law in Maryland

To have someone removed from my house.

Hi;

My girlfriend and I are going to get married in June 2008. We are currently living together in my house. The house is in my name and is going to stay in my name after we get married. Her son moved in with us about (2) years ago. We made an agreement that he would stay with us until he graduates from collage in May 2008. I have agreed he could stay until Aug. 08 then he would have to move out. If he does not want to leave, can I have the police come and remove him from my house?

Generally, you can. I assume the son pays no rent and therefore has no tenant rights. Otherwise, you would have to institute an eviction action. You didn't indicate your girlfriend's position on this, and you would be well advised (in the interest of domestic tranquility) to make sure the two of you are on the same page with this.
