Legal Question in Family Law in Maryland
Residency Question for Divorce
My husband and I were married outside of the country and had resided outside of the country our whole marrige (both working for the military). I did not have a state residency, but have since returned stateside. My question would be given I was overseas working for the military and maintained no state residency, do I still need to meet the one year requirements for divorce in MD?

Re: Residency Question for Divorce
Either you or your husband must have resided in the state of Maryland for at least a year in order for you to file for a divorce in Maryland. The fact that you were married and lived overseas is irrelevant.
