Can a ruling for a custody case be appealed in the state of maryland?

Yes, but the appellate court will give considerable deference to the decision of the trial judge, who had the opportunity to hear the testimony first hand and evaluate the witnesses. Appeals must be filed within 30 days from the date the judgment was entered in the record. As long as there were facts to support the decision of the judge and the law wasn't misapplied, it's most unlikely that an appeal will be successful.
