Legal Question in Family Law in Maryland

Running from Child Support

The NCP in this case was served with child support contempt a month ago. We have a hearing coming up in April. To avoid making payments, the NCP left the state and moved to MI with her boyfriend. I just found the address to where the NCP is staying. When we go before the court and I provide this information on the NCP's intentional efforts to flee the court order. (provided 2 flase address and will not get a job) Will the court put out a warrant to bring her back to Maryland? If not, what action do I need to take to ensure that she is caught. Thank you so much!!

The court will issue a warrant if she doesn't appear, but it's not likely to be sent to MI. You could ask the court to enter a money judgment against her and then take that judgment and have it recorded in the county where she's living. You could also have the local contempt filed in MI and go after her there. I strongly suggest you get a local attorney who knows the law to help you.
