Legal Question in Family Law in Maryland

separation proof?

My husband and I have been

separated for over a year, which is

legally required for a divorce in the

state of Maryland. We did not sign

any agreements, but we have not

lived together in over a year. What

proof of separation will we need for

the divorce? We do not have

children, he is going to keep the

house. We have been married for 6

years. The divorce is amicable and we

want to avoid attorneys/the court if

possible. Second question: I am now

living with a new partner in a new

residence, but my husband is not

aware of this and my name is not on

the lease of the new apartment. Will

i have to show proof of my new

residence for the divorce?

Thank you.

Re: separation proof?

The separation period is generally established via testimony by you and a corroborating witness that you separated on a specific date and have remaining separated without marital relations of cohabitation continuously for at least one year.
