Legal Question in Family Law in Maryland

I was just served a motion to terminate /modify spousal support. How long do I have to reply and how do I find out who to reply to? I live in the Eastern Shore, Md and the court is in Fairfax, va? How do I get this moved? I'm retired and don't have a lot of funds.

You will have to respond by filing an opposition to the motion in the Fairfax court. If you were awarded permanent alimony, your ex will have to demonstrate that there has been a signficant change in either their ability to pay or your needs from what they were at the time of the divorce. You should seek representation by a VA family attorney. Check with the Fairfax County bar association to see if they have a reduced fee program that you as a non resident may be eligible for.
