Legal Question in Family Law in Maryland

My ex and I have shared legal custody and she has now taken my kids to relocate out of state without my permission nor permission of the court. What can I do to get my kids back immediately?

It depends on the terms of the custody order or agreement, specifically whether it has any "relocation" language in it. MD law forbids a parent from taking a child under 16 out of state so as to deprive a lawful custodian of access to the child or from exercising custodial rights. You should immediately consult an experienced family attorney about filing a petition for a show cause order against your ex. Unfortunately if she's already settled in the new state, you may have to chase her there in order to enforce a MD court order.
