I have sole physical and sole legal custody of my 4 year old son.What rights does my ex husband have when it comes to visitation?Can I keep him from seeing him?We do NOT have any other visitation papers or anything

It is unusual to have a custody order without some provision for visitation. In the absence of a schedule, some order may award "reasonable and liberal visitation" or state that visitation is at the discretion of the custodial parent. In the absence of such language, there would be no visitation rights for the father to enforce, unless he filed to modify the order. However, what is really at issue is what is in your son's best interest. In general, children benefit greatly by having a meaningful, consistent relationship with both parents. If the father is fit to have visitation and does not pose a threat to the child's safety, you may want to consider allowing visitation for the sake of the child.
