Staying with parents

Can my parents ask for rent money if I am over 30 and staying with them?

Certainly. In most cases, parents have no legal obligation to support their adult children. Assuming you have the capacity to work and/or support yourself, they have no obligation to provide you with free housing.

There is no legal reason why parents cannot require anyone staying with them, regardless of whether or not the person is their child, from paying rent.
