Can my parents ask for rent money if I am over 30 and staying with them?

Re: Staying with parents
Certainly. In most cases, parents have no legal obligation to support their adult children. Assuming you have the capacity to work and/or support yourself, they have no obligation to provide you with free housing.

Re: Staying with parents
There is no legal reason why parents cannot require anyone staying with them, regardless of whether or not the person is their child, from paying rent.
