Step-parent Adoption

My husband has sole physical and legal custody of his son and the mother recently signed a consent for me to adopt him (child support arrears to high and facing jail) When we file petition does my husband also have to sign some sort of consent stating that he is ok with me adopting him?

Certainly the court would want to know that the custodial parent consents to the adoption of his child.
