Legal Question in Family Law in Maryland

Can I sue Maryland CSE for ruining my life?

I had a court hearing in December 2005 to update child support payment amounts and disputed child payment arrearage amounts. As a result of this hearing PG county court ordered a $ 270.00 monthly child support payment and a $250.00 monthly payment towards an arrearage amount of $10,247. What has transpired since then has been a nightmare. They have collected the arrears payment at an average monthly rate of $1,375.84 versus the $250.00 court order; a 450% increase over the ordered amount and they have over collected $2,135.52 in arrears to date. The Child Support Enforcement has ignored the court order and collected more than owed and at a rate significantly larger than the court ordered amount. I have suffered greatly by their actions. I cant pay my bills. The bills I do pay are late. My credit rating has nosedived. I have incurred large costs in interest rate increases, late fees, and additional interest charges. The cost to me for all my loans for many years will be much higher due to these factors. What is even worse is that I am a custodial parent as well. There are two children from the marriage and we each have custody of one child. The Maryland system works one way; the way of who registers with CSE first. Help!

You need someone locally who can contact OCSE and determine how they came up with the amount they're deducting vs. the court ordered amount. If that doesn't resolve the problem, then you need to file court papers to enjoin OCSE from continuing what they're doing.
