Support for disabled young adult
parental support in the case of developmentally disabled 20 year old whose father's income exceeds 300,000....father left mother and wants divorce...also can income of live-in girlfriend be included in father's income...thank you

There is case law going back to (I believe) 1962 that
holds that a parent of a "destitute adult child" has
a continuing obligation to pay for that child and
that such payments can take the form of child
support. So you could very well force your
soon-to-be-ex to continue to support your adult
disabled child. It depends on a lot of factors,
so I would have to know a lot more before I could
tell you for sure whether you could get the
child support.
As for the live-in girlfriend's money, the likely
answer is that, "no" you cannot go after her
income. There are circumstances where that might
not be the case, but not a lot...
