The father has a right to visitation with his children, independent of any child support obligation. If there has not been a court adjudication of his paternity, he can go to court to acknowledge that and request visitation. In all likelihood the mother will seek court ordered child support as part of that proceeding. The amount of support will be based upon the respective incomes of the parents, and will include a base amount set by law, plus a proportionate sharing of daycare and uninsured medical expenses if any. If the father has an employer health plan, he may have to include the children on that plan if he doesn't now.
