When someone takes you and another to court and has you listed as the defendant and the other person as the counterclaim-plaintiff, what does that mean?

The other person that was sued filed a counterclaim against the plaintiff. He/she is also still a defendant on the original suit. A counterclaim is filed when the defendant has a related claim against the plaintiff and wants to have it decided in the same suit. You should have received a copy of the counterclaim from the counterplaintiff as a party to the suit. If not, ask either of the parties to send it to you.
