me and my xe girlfried have a 2 year old .we are now separated.we lived together for the entire year of 2007.can i claim my daughter on my 2008 taxes?

If you provided more than half of your daughter's support during '07, and you and the mother agree to allow you to declare your daughter on your '07 return as a dependent, you have to both sign Form 8332, on which she would waive her right to claim the child. If she refuses and you both end up claiming the child, it will probably be disallowed, since you have to provide the child's ssn.
