Legal Question in Family Law in Maryland

Hi there

I am female and have been granted a limited divorce based on cruelty.

I would like to know if there is a waiting period before i can file for an absolute divorce?

Also, do i need my estranged husband to sign the divorce papers in order for me to get an absolute divorce?

Many thanks :)

If you were able to establish cruelty grounds as a basis for a limited divorce, then you should be able to obtain an absolute divorce on the same grounds without a waiting period. It's not clear what you mean by "divorce papers." If you file an amended complaint and he does not file an answer, you can proceed on a default basis.
