Legal Question in Family Law in Maryland
Typically what is the amount of time it takes for a Judge to rule on Exceptions to a Master's recommendations?
Next week it will mark 2 months since the Exceptions hearing. The Judge just got a new Law Clerk last week and the Law Clerk new nothing about the case. There is a 2nd "sub curia" case that was heard 2 weeks before mine and it too is waiting for a decision.
The Law Clerk was directed to tell my attorney "The Judge still has it". To avoid adverse actions we did not pursue further iinformation.

Two months is unusual for exceptions. Unless the case is extremely complex, most exceptions are ruled upon either at the conclusion of the exceptions hearing or shortly thereafter. If other cases are being delayed in a similar manner, there may be an issue that needs to be addressed with the court's administrative judge.
