Legal Question in Family Law in Maryland

Violate a court order!

What can or would happen if I violate a court order to send my child on the exact date or day stated in the paperwork? (I am unable do to no non-stop flights after 5:20pm) The child does not get home from school until 3:45pm and the airport is 30-45 min. from us. The child is 11 yr olds and I would not allow any lay over. I have tried to work with the other party but he will not communicate with me. I call he hangs up the phone. I do have an attorney, whom I have ask to do an emergency hearing with no success. What should I do and how do I go about doing it? I am need of some help here.

I suggest you write an email or letter to your ex, explaining the problem and indicating that you will send your child on the first available nonstop flight. If he makes an issue of it with the court, you will have some documentation of your attempt to work this out with him. You should also keep a log of the telephone efforts and results that have been made to resolve the problem. I doubt a court would sanction you under these circumstances. You could also ask your lawyer to write him or his lawyer if he has one to further document your efforts.
