Visitation
My friend has a child out of wedlock. An incident has happened and both
have issued protection order against each other. They went to court and the
judge would not here of any incidents of abuse pattern (he physically and
verbally abuse his wife). Informed both parties to resolved it like mature
adults but since there have instances of child neglect my friend was scared
something would happened to her son & agreement couldn't be reached. He
filed false charges against her & took her son. Since there is nothing stating
custody she can't her son back. In MD, what is reasonable visitations. He has
had her son since 6/29/05 ( a week) with no plans on returning him. Please
help her!!!!

Re: Visitation
She needs to find an attorney and file a custody petition as soon as possible. If she is indigent, there are legal aid services available in most counties.
Child Visitation
Your friends first mistake was going to the protective order hearing without a lawyer. Her second mistake is not getting one now. The longer she waits, the less chance she has of getting custody.
