Legal Question in Family Law in Maryland

Visitation Schedule

Ex sent me his request for visitation before going to mediation. The child is now 1 years old. Ex is asking for 31 days in the summer, spring break, and xmas break. Is this standard for a young toddler? The child is in daycare and does not have any school breaks since daycare is open all year round. I am not comfortable with 31 days of visitation because it would interfere with the childs stability. I am asking for EOW, EOH...Thanksgiving and Xmas to begin the following day before and end the next day at 6pm. Two non consecutive weeks in the summer. Also it seems that the court never contacted us for mediation and we are due in court very soon. Will the judge grant a continuation request so that we can go to mediation?

Re: Visitation Schedule

Each case is determined on its individual characteristics. If you want your child to stay in year-round daycare, your ex will have to be responsible for transporting him/her there during visitation periods. As for mediation, you can request it from the court or see if your ex is willing to engage in it voluntarily before the court date.
