If my boyfriend is paying child support in the state of maryland and his ex wife is getting goverment help like food stamps. His child support money goes to the state to pay them back right or does she get both state help and his money? And if she is getting--name removed--check from us now once every 2 weeks should the state know??

Your boyfriend's support payments would be distributed to the ex unless the state has put in a claim. It's possible that the receipt of support would affect her entitlement to child support, but her receipt of food stamps would not entitle him to a reduction in his support payments. Therefore, if you take action such as "reporting" her to the government, you will accomplish nothing except possibly depriving the child of the benefits of the stamps.

Both parties are expected to have some "income." Government aid is part of the ex-wife's income and has more than likely been considered in the calculation of the child support payments. Reporting her child support payments to the State of Maryland will not benefit either party, especially the child.
