Can a will override decisions made doing the life of the deceased?

Can a will override decisions made doing the life of the deceased if the deceased deeds property to someone while still alive and someone else after their death?

A properly executed deed that transfers the property prior to a person's death, is valid, even if the person, in his will, transfers the same property to another. The reason is that, at the time of the person's death, he no longer owns the property.
