Legal Question in Family Law in Maryland

Hello, yesterday my father left my mother and is now filing for separation then divorce, He was the primary breadwinner of the house hold and my mother is now very scared that she will not be able to afford a lawyer and could be ruined by the divorce. Is there anything that can be done to help her?

You did not say whether your father was hiring an attorney. You also don't mention many other pertinent facts. Your mother should contact an attorney to discuss her case. Once an action is taken without an attorney it is very difficult and costly to change, if at all. Ask you mother to contact me for a free initial consultation.
