Legal Question in Medical Leave in Maryland

counting weeks taken off

My HR department,

Said that it does not matter if your last day worked is Thrusday, That being off Friday counts as your first week on fmla. Is this correct ?

I had two weeks vacation time & was paid for this during my time off, does that counts as

weeks used ?

If your employer is counting Friday as 1 whole week, then only allowing you another 11 weeks of FMLA leave, that is a violation of the law. Under the FMLA, you are entitled to 12 workweeks of leave, this is typically 60 days.
