How 2 get out of co-signing a lease

I signed on an apt lease, for ex-boyfriend. never lived there, co-signed a car loan, authorized him to use credit cards, gave him 550$ in checks, and 400$ in cash, and paid the 1st 2 months rent for the apt.

he denies he ows me anything. Is legal action possible?

You can't get out of your obligation for the loans you co-signed/obligations you assumed (without filing for bankruptcy). You *can* sue him for some or all of the sums claimed due.
