How do I find someone to help me with protecting myself and my pets from an aggressive dog in the neighborhood. There have been reports made to animal control and a hearing to place the dog on the dangerous dog list.

It sounds like you've already taken the right steps. I assume the dog's owner has been made well aware of his/her dog's dangerous propensities. If you tend to let your pets into your yard, make sure it's got adequate fencing and any gates are secured. If you walk dogs, don't do it anywhere near where this dog lives.
