Is an application for credit to buy a car a contract even when the actual contract did not involve the applicant?

A contract is an agreement between two or more people in which each is bound to perform certain tasks and each receives benefits. An application is nothing more than an offer to enter into a contract on certain terms, and cannot become a binding contract until the person to whom the offer is made agrees to those terms. One person cannot bind another who is not a party to the contract unless that person expressly or impliedly authorizes the other to act on his or her behalf.
