Car sale gone bad

I just sold an old truck When I bought the truck I never had the title switched to my name becuse it was a farm truck that I never planned on having it tagged but the title was clear. I just sold the truck in MD The people I sold it to signed the title in the wrong place so they couldent get it tagged I can not get a hold of the guy I purchased it from to get a new title Now they are taking me to court. When they inspected the truck and the title they said everything was ok and they gave me the money for it after I delivered it 100 miles . Now thew want there money back becuse they cant get it titled am I at fult and legaly lible Thanks Todd

You are obligated to provide clear title to the truck as part of the deal. I'm assuming you have a DE title with your seller's name on it. You should contact the DE motor vehicle bureau to see if there is a process by which you can get it retitled without the signature of the owner of record. Perhaps if you have a bill of sale, this can be done.
