Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Maryland

Car Towed away from rental property

I had put registration renewal stickers on my license plates which might have come off.

- My car was towed away by the towing company contracted by the rental property management with the reason that the car had expired tags and owner of the car could not be located for 72 hrs (I was on a vacation for 5 weeks).

- My car was registered with the rental property management, had the parking decal issued by the rental property management.

- I have the valid registration, do I still owe the money the towing company is demanding?

What are the laws on this? Please let me know what you think I should do?

Re: Car Towed away from rental property

It may not do you any good, but you certainly should complain to the rental management. It seems that they could have easily verified that the vehicle was yours and therefore legitimately on the property.
