credit card debt
Suppose my spouse dies and has a credit card debt in his name only, will I as his wife have to pay his debt?

If you are not a signatory on the account and haven't used the card, you aren't responsible for the debt. However, the credit card company could file a claim if you open an estate to probate your husband's assets. Only assets in his name alone that are not in retirement accounts need to be probated.
