Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Maryland

Daycare provider sueing me for breaking contract during sexual abuse investigati

I took my son to a daycare provider until he came home and told me that he was touched sexually. I did not let him return and started an investigation into the matter. The detective was not able to find evidence to prove anyting so the investigation ended. Now I'm going to be sued because I did not give two weeks notice before taking my son out of daycare and that is a breach of our original contract. Is that legal? If they do take me to court will they want to talk to my son about anything?

-Thanks

The daycare provider has a right to sue you for breach of contract, but that doesn't mean they'll win the suit. If you had a valid reason for immediate termination of the agreement, you may be entitled to break the contract. Certainly legitimate concerns about this kind of conduct would fall into this category.
