Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Maryland

Defamation

I have been libeled/slandered. It has affected my life. I have material I have already given law enforcement, but also want to provide publicly. All the information (observations and conversations) are true. Can I legally? What kind of risk am I taking?

Re: Defamation

It seems that by going public, unless you want to file suit for damages, you are enhancing the impact on your life that the defamation has caused. The other party might elevate what they are publishing about you in response. I don't see why law enforcement would get involved in a civil dispute, unless there is some criminal law violation as well.
