Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Maryland

my fiancee was involved in a statutory rape case 15+ yrs ago. he was 21 and she was 17 case was dismissed because the girl told the judge it was consentual...now the girls mother is posting things on Facebook about him calling him a molester and threatening to make my life hard on me because her huband and son are in the police department. what can i do?

If she is posting false information, your fiance has a potential defamation claim. I suggest you engage an attorney to write her a strongly worded letter about this, advising her to immediately cease her actions or be prepared to face legal action. If by chance you still know how to get in touch with the girl, and can persuade her to get involved, that might solve the problem.
