Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Maryland
How and where to file an objection to a subponea
I live in MD and just received notice that a subponea is being served on a bank I used to do business with to obtain records. This is an ongoing issue where the lawyer who requested this is in PA and is using a MD firm to do this.
However, an agreement was already made through default that the case was to be handled in PA. This ''switch'' from one state to another has happened at least twice before and now I believe the PA firm is simply ''fishing'' to harrass me.
How do I file an objection to this newest subponea myself? I can't afford to get a lawyer. I have until 12 June to object.

Re: How and where to file an objection to a subponea
Just because the ongoing suit is being handled in PA doesn't preclude a party from seeking records in MD, if the bank where the records are is located here. If you have grounds to object to a subpoena you would have to file a motion to quash it in whatever court issued it.
