Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Maryland

Garnishment of wages

The garnishment placed on wages turned out to be on a part time job and the party does not make enough to satisfy the garnishment. I plan hire an investigative service to identify the full time job. My question: do I have to cancel the existing garnishment now or can I proceed with a second garnishment?

Re: Garnishment of wages

You can have multiple garnishments going at the same time. When wages are garnished, the employer must attach 25% of the after tax wages and send that amount to the judgment creditor (you), but the first $145 (except in a few counties) is exempt.
