Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Maryland

My grandmother signed for a loan for me to get a car. her name is on the loan only. my name is on the title only. ive made all the car payments, paid for tags and taxes and insurance. she hasnt paid any money towards the car. after a family feud she filed a civil suit to have the title put in her name. i recieved a summons and replied within the 30 day deadline. i assumed i would be recieveing a court date shortly after.but to my surprise, today 4 cops and my grandmother showed up at my work with a court order awarding her the title. what is my next step in getting my car back?

If you haven't been to a court hearing then apparently your grandmother applied for an attachment before judgment. You should have received notice of this so you could fight it. You need to go to the court where the case is filed and review the court record to see what is going on. This does not seem to be an appropriate case for what happened if there has been no court hearing. You should seek the services of an attorney to assist you. If you can't afford an attorney, your local bar association should be able to refer you to a reduced fee or possibly a pro bono (free) attorney if you income qualify.
