Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Maryland
harassment
I was accused by a young woman of attacking her at her work place, and of sexual child abuse when she was a teenager in my youth group. The police did a complete investigation into all charges, I took a polygraph test, a behaviour analisys interveiw, and a trace scan of my handwritting, and the police found her accusations unfounded. Three months later she has accused me of breaking into her home, and assulting her, and stealing a cd. She said that she believes it was me. I have my whole family to testify that I was home at the time of the break-in, and have a peace order against me. The detectives in both cases told me that she can continue to make false accusations against me. At what point does what she is doing become wrong? Is it not harassment? And if so, what can I do to prevent these things from continuing to wreck havok in my life?

Re: harassment
Ultimately if she continues to make unfounded accusations against you, you can bring a harassment suit against her, seeking to recover any damages you can prove you sustained. The chances of collecting may be small, but at least it might convince her to cease and desist.
