my mortgage company sent me a letter stating that someone who works for them may have sold all my information to someone outside of the company. Is there anything i can do about this?

Absolutely. Was the information communicated to you in writing? Have you check your credit report? If not in writing request they put it in writing and request a free copy of your credit report from all three bureaus, along with sending them a copy of the letter from your mortgage company to be put in your credit file as an alert.
