Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Maryland

my pet

I had a friend holding my dog for me because his leg was broken and I did not want him around while im in the moving process. I told her to keep him while he is healing. A month passed and I told her that im still in the moving process after another shortwhile she gave the dog away. How can I get the dog back from the new owner? Do I have any rights to the dog?

If this person is a friend, I'd hate to meet your enemies. Of course, asking a friend to watch a disabled pet for that long does tend to test the friendship. As for your legal rights, your friend had no right to do what she did, unless she claims you essentially abandoned the dog. There should have been some communication over this before she took such drastic action. The person who now has it should return it. Hopefully you won't have to go to court over this.
