You can sue for pain and suffering if you sustained a physical injury. Be advised that the maximum you can sue for in small claims court is $2500. You can file a regular civil suit in the District Court of Maryland for up to $25000, but you'll need to know how to follow court and evidence rules if you're not in small claims court.
