Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Maryland
Question about Wage Garnishment
I live in Maryland and recently was sued and the Plaintiff rec'd a Judgment. I work in Washington, DC. I've just rec'd notification that they are garnishing my wages. Can they garnish my wages if the judgment is in Maryland and I work in DC?
Please advise. Thanks in advance.
ps. If I file a Claim of Exemption and lose, do I have to pay the Plaintiff's attorney's fees?

Re: Question about Wage Garnishment
Your wages can be garnished wherever you work. Limits apply with garnishment. Whenever you take action in court you may subject yourself to assignment of costs.
