Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Maryland

I was removed from my lodging due to an argument with my roommate. He put a peace order against me and I returned to the residents to get my clothes and other personal property. It was deemed that I was in violation of the peace order when I return and placed in jail for two weeks.

He removed my things from the home and allegedly all my clothing was stolen. What legal grounds to I have in this situation. All my suits, leather coats, dress shoes, etc were not there when my friend went over to pick my things. He says they were stolen.

You may have a claim for wrongful eviction and conviction. Initially you probably should have had a peace officer accompany you to remove your things before you went to your apartment. However your roommate cannot kick you out if you are on the lease. If he claims he didn't your stuff but left them in a place that they could be stolen, then you have a claim for negligence.
