Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Maryland

My son had food from a chinese restaurant and got sick .He was so sick that he had to go to the hospital.The hospital told him that it was food poison. He was sent home and had to take medicine for several days in order for his stomache to get right. I wanted to know if I have grounds for a lawsuit or rather if he have grounds for a lawsuit.

You can file a claim with the restaurant, and if they have insurance you may be able to get a settlement. Timing in these cases is very important, because you have to establish that it was the Chinese food that made your son sick and not something else he ingested. Make sure you get the hospital record and the bill, as well as receipts for the medicine and any other expenses. As far as a lawsuit is concerned, if your son made a full recovery after a few days the value of the case probably wouldn't justify taking it that far.
