What is the statute of limitations regarding a civil suite by a victim against the convicted rapist?

Since a rape is in essence an assault, you must file suit within 1 year of the date of occurrence.

Does the defendant have sufficient assets to pay any judgment for damages you might receive? I strongly recomment you retain an attorney to represent you if you're serious about this.
