can i be sued if neighbor gets hurt while playing basketball on my proprty

Such a suit would probably fail, because the neighbor assumes the risk of injury while doing this. If there is some defect on the property that is not obvious to him which causes the injury, and which you knew or should have known about and corrected, that could expose you to liability. Your homeowner's insurance will protect you if you are sued.
